2018 SSDT Friday Route
Friday at the SSDT doesn't really need any introduction. It's the most spectator friendly day of the Trial with numerous opportunities to catch the riders on the penultimate day of the Scottish. It's a twenty mile run out for the competitors before they reach the first group at Doire Damh where four sections await. From there it's onto Piper's Burn which has good parking and is always popular with spectators. The next four sections at Roshven are also easily accessible, as are Glenuig and WD's, but park carefully and totally off the road at WD's to avoid blocking other traffic.
It's another long run after that before reaching Laudale and Laudale Cottage then on to Camasnacroise, Meall nam Each and Kilmalieu - all of which are easy to get to for spectators. The day rounds out on the red rocks of Rhuba Ruadh before the return trip either across the Corran Ferry or the hour drive round the lochside. Don't be tempted to jump the queue for the ferry. Someone tried this last year and the police made him reverse right back to the end of the queue!
