Applications for entries will be open towards the end of October and if a ballot for entries is necessary this will be held mid December.
We have already started preparations and, although some work was completed for the 2020 event, there will be a lot of work required to make sure that the six daily routes over hundreds of miles are in a fit state to run the event....

LATEST UPDATE: Following the cancelation of the 2021 event due to the ongoing pandemic the organisers have considered the various options with regards the entries that were carried over from 2020 and it was decided that the only fair thing to do is not to carry forward the entries. Therefore, in October 2021 the entries for 2022 SSDT event will open online and if applications exceed the number of places available then the usual ballot process will take place. It is with a heavy heart that the Edinburgh and District MC has taken the decision, as a result of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, to cancel the 2021 SSDT and the Pre’65 Scottish trials.
We realise that this will be a massive disappointment to many people. However, we are making an early, logical decision to provide fans and everyone else involved in the event as much notice as possible.
Competitors who have entered the events will be contacted shortly after the two organising committees have met to decide on the way forward.

Although this is good news and shows that everyone is keen to get back out there it does unfortunatly means that there will be very few spaces available for the many applicants who did not get an entry for the cancelled event.
The club will be processing the entries over the next few weeks and applicants in...
