Preparations are underway for the 2021 Scottish Six Days Trial with all of the behind-the-scenes work kicking off.
The organising committee confirmed that they were planning to hold the event as usual during the first week in May (3rd- 8th May 2021). Committee Chairman Mark Whitham stating “With the current world uncertainty we can only plan to run the event as usual, however we are in constant discussions with the authorities and other key bodies and will be constantly reviewing the position.”

Although the 2020 event was cancelled, many SSDT fans followed the virtual SSDT tour by Vince Mackintosh in May. Vince toured the event sections on his pushbike giving excellent commentary and SSDT tips along the way, together with his previous fundraising he raised over £4000 for the local hospital nurses. On top of Vince’s fantastic fundraising the SSDT team held a series of on-line raffles with prizes donated by local businesses, riders and trials retailers.

Our first virtual day went well in fantastic weather - results are below with a clear leader .
Our first charity raffle was also a fantastic success - watch out for our next one - all to raise some money for the local hospital in Fort William/NHS.

The Edinburgh and District MC confirm that the SSDT and the Pre’65 Scottish trials, due to be run in May, have been cancelled. Following advice from the Scottish Government, the Scottish Autocycle Union have cancelled all motorcycle sporting events up to 31 May. Competitors who have entered the events will be contacted shortly to advise on refunds and the next steps.
A decision has not been made as to whether the 2020 SSDT entrants will be carried forward to 2021 or whether we will start with a new application and ballot process. We will let entrants know ASAP.

Scottish Six Days Trial history will be made in 2020 with the arrival of electric trials bikes in the event for the first time ever! The French Electric Motion firm have entered two riders in the event, and which have been accepted, in the shape of former Trial World Champion, Spain's Marc Colomer and experienced British rider and EM importer Matthew Alpe. Both riders will compete in the event on the latest EM machinery.

The Club are constantly monitoring the position and will take advice from all relevent agencies regarding the running of the SSDT and Pre'65 trials. At the moment the events are still on.
Our governing body, The Scottish Autocycle Union has issued the following advice today which unfortunatly means that competitors from Category 1 countries such as Italy will not be allowed to compete in this year’s SSDT and Pre 65.
